FNB Internal Training Boxset
Sales Enablement Kit

Project context
FNB needed a training solution that could travel across teams and branches while staying fully aligned to strict brand requirements. The goal was to improve understanding and adoption of the Bucks system by turning product mechanics into practical, repeatable sales behaviors—without overwhelming staff with dense, “policy-style” documentation.

Working with Spitfire (Johannesburg), I led the creative strategy and direction for a boxed set of brochures that functioned as an integrated learning toolkit: structured, modular, and designed for fast reference in real work environments.

Internal audience (demographic + operational reality)
This project was built for a broad internal demographic:
• Frontline branch staff and call-center teams under daily performance pressure
• Mixed tenure levels (new starters to experienced sellers)
• Varied financial literacy and learning preferences
• A working environment where training must be quick, practical, and reusable, not academic

This meant the design needed to work like a “field guide”—clear, confident, and instantly navigable.

Challenges → Solutions
Complex product mechanics, low time to learn
Challenge: The Bucks system involves rules, benefits, tiers, and customer scenarios—easy to misunderstand, hard to explain quickly.
Solution: I structured the content into a modular learning journey:
• Clear “what it is / why it matters / how to explain it” flow
• Step-by-step breakdowns, quick-reference pages, and repeatable templates
• Visual hierarchy that prioritizes what staff need in the moment

Internal training fatigue and low engagement
Challenge: Traditional training brochures often feel like compliance documents—read once, then ignored.
Solution: We built a toolkit that feels valuable and interactive:
• Multiple booklets with distinct purposes (reference, practice, scenarios)
• Story- and scenario-led learning to make benefits memorable
• A premium custom box to increase perceived value and keep the set together

Consistency across multiple documents (brand governance)
Challenge: Many pieces, one system—everything needed to be unmistakably FNB and consistent across touchpoints.
Solution: I designed a repeatable layout system:
• Shared grid, typographic rhythm, and consistent navigation logic
• Brand-compliant photography and color discipline
• A unified “family” design so every piece looks like part of one program

Turning knowledge into sales behavior
Challenge: Knowing Bucks is not the same as confidently selling it. Staff needed language, prompts, and structure.
Solution: We built sales-enablement mechanics into the learning:
• Scenario prompts and objection-handling cues
• Talk tracks and guided questions that support consultative selling
• Practical activities to rehearse conversations and reinforce confidence

Outcomes and effectiveness (sales force impact)
This boxset improved effectiveness by shifting training from “information” to application:
• Faster onboarding and more consistent product understanding
• Stronger, repeatable customer conversations about Bucks benefits
• Improved confidence across teams, leading to more natural upsell/cross-sell behaviors
• A toolkit staff could reuse—supporting ongoing performance, not a once-off rollout
